Conversation not Conversion

11/02/2009

iwantchangeSo the point was brought up in the last post that we need to be more conversation starters than converters. We all know that conversion is always the final goal however I understand where Tim was going with his point. We can’t look at conversion being the goal we need to put our full focus on creating relationships and meeting needs and trying to help people get back on their feet. You don’t know how that person got to where they are today so find out. Learn about them. Don’t just go and give them food and call it good. You can make more of a difference by being a friend and hearing them out than you can by just giving them something. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying make conversation and don’t help them out in any other way I am just saying to make relationships along with the generosity. Now I really want to hear from some of you on this one–Which is better Generousity or Relationships?

  1. I think in giving them relationships and also showing generosity eventually conversion will just happen. You dont have to go into trying to convert but if you have a servants heart and you are showing it eventually people will be asking you about it, than you having to show your views in peoples faces.
